The Veggie Patch that Jon built for me.

After settling in we planned to build a veggie patch. We started with 6 planter boxes however this grew to 10 in no time. Jon dug the grass out of the beds, we laid newspaper and added the soil, bought from the local landscape supplies.


Once the planter boxes were finished I got busy filling them with celery, lettuce and swedes just to name a few. More of what I planted later.


Along one of our many drives around the Huon Valley, we stumbled across a veggie patch which had black netting. I loved the black and after a lot of effort on Jon's behalf he found some. It was so nice of Mark and Deanne to help us with the finishing touches, Mark especially did a great job.




Erik no longer had a nice place for his day naps.


We purchased an old screen door from the local tip for a mere $5.00, it was a great buy.


The finished veggie patch! I LOVE the view from here, and it's a great place to ponder life.
